My girlfriend Salem and I are huge fans of the horror podcast The Magnus Archives :) We're kinda going through a hyperfixation together, and so for the past few months we've been including TMA in everything we do. Like Normal People.

We're constantly making references, themed gifts for each other, or talking about the podcast in some way - and I wanted to share some of the things we've made!

Guess Who?

This right here is Salem's magnum opus. 48 (yes, 48!) original illustrations of different TMA characters put into an actual physical game of Guess Who?. I think the character designs are amazing and instantly recognizable, even the characters that don't really have a specific widely accepted 'fandom design'.

But of course, when we play the questions are mostly based on vibes and headcanons, not looks - to make it more fun and difficult :D The amount of hours we spent playing it and creating elaborate headcanons for characters that show up like 2 times in the podcast?? It's insane. And it's great fun!

Salem also crocheted these cute little pouches to keep the loose character cards in!

Heads Up!

A smaller project of mine was to recreate Heads Up! - the party game - for us to play with TMA themed categories. I don't know much about making mobile apps or games, but I know html and js, and a simple web version hosted on my laptop was more than enough for us to have fun playing.

I actually hadn't checked if there already was a version of Heads Up that let you enter your own words and categories before making my own :d So if there is, Don't let me know!! I worked hard on it! Let me have this moment!!

We used only words as clues, but honestly charades do sound fun rn. Maybe next time? Though it would be wayy more difficult..

Stickers

For Salem's birthday this year I made some stickers of cassette tapes inspired by each fear entity. I think they turned out neat, even though I didn't really have a solid idea for some designs :V

I also learned that I can't draw spiders - at all, even whith a reference. So many failed web cassettes where the spider just looks like a tick..
